Shutters are covers or screens that are usually movable, and can be opened and closed to alternately prevent and permit the passage of light. Shutters are common interior design elements used for covering windows or doors, or for a decoration that resembles a window or door to add visual appeal. Shutters are also sometimes referred to as blinds. Attractive shutters can add design distinction to any room. Many interior designers use shutters to set a specific mood within a room. Besides adding visual appeal, shutters afford privacy, by blocking those outside from seeing in.
