There are many different types of organizations that you can volunteer at. When you contact the organizations, you should ask them what types of charities they have connections with. That will give you a good idea of the types of programs that they operate. Find out if they support local rescues for children who are in abusive relationships, education programs that teach the public, labor issues, or other services that will benefit your community. Find out if they have a web site where you can learn more about the association. They might also have informational meetings that you can attend where they will tell you about the different programs that you can participate in. When you have decided which ones interest you, find out what their schedules are like so you can choose one that fits your life.
