When people want to buy oil futures, oil properties or oil commodities, they turn to oil property companies, oil traders and commodity investment firms that specialize in energy commodities to do it. Many oil property specialists and oil futures specialists work on the New York Mercantile Exchange while others may work on international commodities exchanges. Some oil properties experts specialize in buying and selling a certain kind of crude, such as a trader that specializes in Texas intermediate crude while other oil traders may buy and sell all kinds of crude oil. Many oil properties experts work for large commodity trading firms while others may work for themselves. Some oil properties experts may also trade in other energy commodities such as natural gas, coal and gasoline.
