If a person wants to hunt elk, deer or any other animal out of their legally designated hunting season, they might travel to a hunting and fishing preserve. Hunting and fishing preserves that are on private land not owned by the government will typically offer year-round hunting trips for hunters of all kinds of animals. Many private hunting preserves that offer year-round hunting also have on-site equipment and service stores and special lodging for hunters as well. Members can only use many private hunting and fishing preserves, while others ask for a fee on each visit. Public hunting preserves usually do not require a membership, but are usually subject to more government regulations and rules.
