Fruit and vegetable brokers specialize in buying fruit and vegetables from farmers and producers and selling it to fruit and vegetable wholesalers, supermarkets and food manufacturing companies. Some produce brokers specialize in buying and selling a certain kind of fruit or vegetable, such as an orange broker who buys oranges from orange farmers and orange producers and then sells them to orange juice makers, fruit wholesalers, supermarket chains or food manufacturers who make food products with oranges in them. Other produce brokers buy and sell all kinds of fruits while others buy and sell all kinds of vegetables. Many fruit and vegetable brokers buy and sell several varieties of fruits and vegetables that are grown in the regions in which they operate.
