Companies that provide drafting services engage in drawing detailed layouts, plans and illustrations of buildings, structures, machines and systems based upon architectural and engineering specifications. Often architectural firms, engineering firms, scientific firms and inventors hire drafting service companies. Most drafting service companies use AUTOCAD and CAD programs to create drawings. Drafting services also utilize drafting tools to hand-draw illustrations. Different drafting firms specialize in different drafting fields. Some firms specialize in architectural drafting.
