Cabs and taxis are the same thing. When people want to get from one place to another, they sometimes take cabs. In larger cities people may be able to hail a cab in order to get a ride in one. In smaller cities and towns, a person usually needs to call a taxicab company in order to get a cab to come and pick them up. Some cab companies specialize in taking people to a certain destination, such as an airport. The cost of taking a cab varies greatly from one city to another. Some cab companies have vans that can carry many people at a time. Other cab companies have handicapped accessible cabs for people in wheelchairs or with disabilities. Most cabs are cars.
