One of the modern techniques to approach therapy for behavioral disorders is to use electromyogram monitors to measure certain body responses during a therapy session. Measuring such autonomic responses as heart rate, skin temperature, blood pressure, and sweating can assist therapists as they try different techniques on their patients. Sometimes disorders such as anxiety and ADHD present themselves as physiological symptoms first, which is why some therapists have begun to use biofeedback monitoring as a part of their therapy. If, for example, they are able to measure such galvanic responses as muscle tension during a particular type of therapy technique, they may be able to create a more beneficial therapy session.
