Some also help people apply for welfare and adoption. These human resource departments are a good way to start a new career. If you are religious, then you might choose to use a Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, or other agency that shares your beliefs. This makes some people feel more comfortable because they know that they are getting assistance from someone who shares their values and beliefs. While many of the social service organizations are non-profits, they might still charge you for their services. Many charge on a sliding scale that fits your income level, so ask them what options they can give you before you decide which one to use.
