When “parents” go out of town for extended periods of time, they often take their pets to pet boarding services or have professional pet sitters keep on eye on them. Sometimes pet boarding services are called kennels. At a kennel the pet is watched and fed by kennel workers. Some kennels specialize in caring for dogs. And some dog kennels specialize in caring for different sizes of dogs. Some kennels specialize in watching cats. Some kennels can watch birds and other kinds of pets. Pet sitters take the pet to their home and watch it or they come to the pet owner's house to check up on it. Different pet sitters specialize in taking care of different kinds of pets.
