Some employers find it wise to take out insurance polices to cover themselves against workmen's compensation claims or workers compensation claims. Workmen's compensation insurance, of workers comp insurance, needed when an employee of a business claims he or she was injured on the job and a worker's compensation board rules that the employer must pay the worker for time lost and in some cases for medical bills. The more likely it is that a company will have employees injured on the job the more important it is that they take out workmen's compensation insurance polices. Some insurance companies may specialize in selling workmen's comp insurance polices. Many other insurance companies may sell worker's comp insurance polices.
